I would like to welcome all parents to this month’s edition of the Newsletter. All of our students have been involved with examinations at the end of the year, and there have already some very good results.

Mixer (Y6) has earned a level 6 in his end of KS2 SAT tests for both numeracy and literacy. For those who are not familiar with National Curriculum levels, this is very exceptional, and he is right on course for a very successful start to the secondary school in August.

Phu (Y9B), another one of our top G&T students, returned from visiting admissions tutors at MIT in the US over the Songkran holidays. We have put together an individual programme of study for him, consisting of IGCSE and A-Level subjects as well as a research project, to give him the best opportunity for him to reach his goal of studying in this most prestigious of colleges. I am delighted to have been able to do this: meeting the unique needs to each students is what we aim to do at Traill. My thanks go to Mr Barry, who put the programme together.

Mixer is our first student in Traill International School history to achieve Level 6 in Maths and English (Grammar, Punctuation, Vocabulary and Spelling) at Year 6!
Well Done!

The senior students are now coming to the end of their Cambridge examinations. Exit polls are generally good and I am cautiously optimistic that we will do at least as well as the exceptional results of last year.

The end of the school year is very busy and I would like to remind parents of important events coming up soon. Please would you make every effort to support your children at the Primary and Secondary Prize giving ceremonies, the Primary and Secondary Summer productions and the parents meeting. All the dates are on the school calendar, and there will be further reminders nearer the time.

Mr. Gordon Espley-Jones, School Principal
