Traill is Thailand’s Only Participating School at KLESF 2016

Four students from Traill International School recently took part in the three-day Kuala Lumpur Engineering Science Fair (KLESF) Challenge 2016 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, making Traill the only school in Thailand to be invited to exhibit a project at the event’s School STEM Project Exhibition.

Football Success in Europe

A dream come true for any boy who wishes to be a professional football player, Tommy in Year 10 signed this summer with Reading FC. in England. He will train and play at the club, as well as completing his studies there. We wish every success to Tommy, and hope to see him playing professionally and maybe one day for England.

CI would like to welcome all parents to this month’s edition of the Newsletter. All of our students have been involved with examinations at the end of the year, and there have already some very good results.

Mixer (Y6) has earned a level 6 in his end of KS2 SAT tests for both numeracy and literacy. For those who are not familiar with National Curriculum levels, this is very exceptional, and he is right on course for a very successful start to the secondary school in August. .

Traill launches its Golden Jubilee celebrations with the spectacular inaugural NCAA Pacific Rim Basketball Championship.

Between the 13th and 15th May, Traill International School co-hosted with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and the PE department of Thailand, the first ever NCAA Pacific Rim Basketball tournament to start their celebrations of their Golden Jubilee year. This was the largest school basketball tournament ever held in Thailand and it attracted 22 teams from the top schools and clubs in Thailand as well as teams from the Philippines, Taiwan, Japan and Iran. The tournament was held in the magnificent 3000+ seat Thai-Japanese Stadium in Bangkok.<

Primary Adventure Camp 2015!

The adventure began for our oldest students (Year 5 and 6) on Wednesday 25th March, as they headed to camp in Saraburi. For the Year 5 children, this would be their first time on camp and away from their parents for 2 nights! For the Year 6 this would be their second time, so we all knew that they would be able to support the teachers in taking care of the Year 5s.

Traill DRAGON’S CUP 2014

Character Building

For the first time in Dragon’s cup history, visiting teams from the Philippines came to participate and compete along with teams from the Japanese Association of Thailand and some notable Thai basketball teams namely, Assumption College Bangkok and Saipanya Rangsit U18 basketball team. These teams provided our boys a challenge, a test that our boys have bravely faced and overcomed.

Primary Fobissea Games 2013

Traill International School entered its first ever Fobissea games in May 2013, and what an experience it was. Nineteen students represented the school over three days of competition. The students had very early meets at the school, and some late returns. This did not deter our young athletes who had more than enough energy!

Outstanding Sports Program

BISAC Sporting Success 2012

There were 6 Traill Dragons teams competing in the November BISAC international schools championships, consisting of the leading and biggest international schools in Thailand. This is the most teams Traill has entered into a single BISAC event. The overall success of the boys and girls was from their desire to do well as a team, and the hours of training by players and coaching staff.

The U15 girls basketball Traill Dragons overcame all opposition at the most highly sort after international schools championships in Thailand, held at Ruamrudee International School on the 3rd, 4th November 2012. It was the better teamwork that was particularly outstanding that made the Traill Dragons stand out from their opponents. In 2011, Traill Students were again awarded the Cambridge University Excellence Award for outstanding students.

Traill students have come Top-in-Thailand for 3 years in succession. In particular was the achievement of "A" who came top-in-Thailand across 4 A-levels - one of the most difficult exams to achieve such a high standard in.

Traill Student Wins Acclaim in National Science Competition

Traill International School Celebrate The Queen’s Diamond Jubileen 2012

Traill International students, teachers and office staff celebrated the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in style on Friday. Everyone was dressed for a royal occasion; many in red, white and blue; the school was decked with bunting, flags and balloons, and a beautifully decorated long table groaned under the weight of party food!

Traill Win Double Honours at BISAC Tournament

Traill swept away all opposition at the U17 Basketball tournament held at Ruamrudee International School on 3rd and 4th February. Both the girl’s and the boy’s
teams beat Harrow International School in the finals by 28 – 16 and 50 – 20 respectively.

For the first time, Traill entered more than one player in a tennis tournament. In fact, we had four girls playing in this competition – Marie and Homa from Yr 9, playing in their proper age group, and Mai and Deweena from Yr 6, playing up for the day.

REMEMBRANCE DAY at the British Embassy

Traill International School raised B3,024 for ex-servicemen and their family by selling poppies. Two Year 13 students Renata Landolt and Dale Harris laid a wreath on behalf of the School on Rembrance Day at the British Embassy on Sunday 14 November 2010 Present were various dignitaries, Ambassadors, and representatives of different associations and societies.

Traill students best IGCSE in Thailand Award 2009

The Cambridge University IGCSE examinations are a world recognised standard, sat by students from the leading international schools on a global scale.

Traill students gained 1st place in Thailand for Physics, 1st place for Biology and 2nd place in Thailand for five subjects combined – beating very stiff competition from other much larger International Schools. On Monday 1st February, 2010, Kamolphat Atsawawaranunt (A) and Suraj Kishnani (Spy) were awarded their certificates by the British Ambassador, his Excellency Mr. Quinton Quayle, at an honorary function at the British Embassy.

In 2008/09 Traill introduced a new housing system that comprised of three houses,
Pegasus House (Green Team)
Griffin House (Yellow Team)
Phoenix House (Red Team)
Team spirit, competitiveness, and a sense of belonging is developed with students competing regularly throughout the year. There are competitions in all areas including sports and extra-curricular activities. It is easy to know when there is a house competition going on with the huge amount of support that gathers around all events.

Shakespeare takes Centre Stage
For the first time in Traill, students are embarking on short in-class Shakespeare plays – including pieces from Twelfth Night, The Tempest and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. As student confidence grows, Languages Team Leader Peter Goldsmith is hoping to get the students to put on a performance for the whole school community.

A Win for the Boys’ Football Team
In a recent match between Traill (Year 13s) and Ruamrudee, Traill took an easy win with 6-0, and dominated the match throughout. Goal scorers included: Charlie (2 goals); Seung (2); and 1 each for Jump and Shaun.

A Basketball Victory
By the time the Garden International School basketball team left Traill on the 13th January, they had defeat written all across their faces! Traill boys won with 42-33, while the girls scored 57-22.
